About Ramen
Adapted from Chinese wheat noodles. Instant ramen was invented by Momofuku Ando in 1958, solving Japans postwar food crisis. Four main styles: shoyu, miso, shio, tonkotsu. The broth can simmer for 18 hours. Japan has over 35,000 ramen shops. College students worldwide survive on 25-cent packets.
